I have started my I Spy quilt for my kiddos and decided to make the quilt out of half square triangles. I used Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton white to break up the prints. We have a long car trip to the beach coming up soon and I thought this would be fun to take for the kiddos.
Half square triangles are fun to make, especially if you use the quick pieced method. If you are new to the quick method, there is a great tutorial here at Patchwork-and-Quilting.com.
Here is my sewing buddy, Artemis, again. This is a shot of him sitting behind me, perched on the arm of the chair, while I am sewing. Yes, he is a little strange, but keeps me entertained.
I don't know if any of you noticed, but I did mention earlier that I have two cats. I have only shared Artemis with you because he is always around when I am sewing. I know this sounds like he is with me all the time, but really it is only when I am sewing. He is very independent and usually off doing his own thing, but as soon as I start sewing, he is there.
This is Apollo. He is the opposite. He isn't really interested when I am sewing, but as soon as I stop moving he is there wanting to snuggle. He is happy whenever there is cuddling involved. On this day, he was present while I was sewing. This is the window over my sewing machine (Yes, my machine did relocate, if you notice the change from previous pictures).
There is something about sewing and these two hanging out with me that relaxes me. It is just so peaceful. (It also helps when both the kiddos take a nap at the same time!)
Have a great Friday!
