I Spy Update...

Here are some I Spy blocks....

It is definitely a work in progress.

Now you may notice that some of the fabrics are upside down.

Well, I used the quick pieced method to make the half square triangles.  Here is a great tutorial at Patchwork-and-Quilting.com.

I wanted to keep all the colored triangles on the bottom and the white on the top.

If you are using directional fabric along with this method, you will end up with one right side up and one upside down.

In this case, I don't mind.  I thought since it is an I spy quilt, I would prefer it to be mixed up.  That way, either end can be the top of the quilt.

I love these fabrics!  The little hedgehogs in the middle are too cute!  I also love the ladybugs, and the acorns, and the threads.... you get the idea...

My son is very excited about this project.  We have already started to play I Spy while I was piecing these squares.

This was a quick view of some of the blocks I have completed.  I still have more to piece...Ahhh....I need to get busy sewing!

  4. These half square triangle blocks are great! I started to make a few recently too-- only I think I made mine too small for what I wanted to do with them... Did you ever mention how big yours are? curious. Keep it up! They're cute!
