More Tumblers ?!?

Ok, so yes I am on a tumbler kick and am starting another tumbler quilt.  I promise my next project will not have anything to do with a tumbler!

I was going through my 30's reproduction stash and thought I should use some of it up (to make room for new fabric of course, yes it is addicting).  I chose to use a slightly different shape than the traditional tumbler.  This one is a little longer and leaner and fits well with the size of my scraps.
In this picture, all the individual rows are hanging in my window.  This is before I put all the rows together to complete the quilt.  With this quilt I decided to arrange the fabric in a rainbow style instead of a random layout.  Many of these fabrics are from the Thanks Be To Auntie Lue line designed by Bonnie Benn Stratton.
Here is the completed top at 36" by 48".  It is a great size for a baby or toddler quilt.  I love the look of a rainbow quilt and how the soft colors blend together from one color to the next.

I can't wait to see how this turns out once it is quilted.

Happy Quilting!

  2. I *really* like this one. It actually reminds me of all the colors of the saltwater taffy we would buy once a year at the state fair! What a wonderful learning object this would be for a baby!

    1. Thank you! Maybe I should call it a saltwater taffy quilt! :) I hadn't thought of how it would be a great learning object for a baby. Thank you for pointing that out!

  3. So pretty! I love how you've arranged the colors, the way they seem to tumble into each other.
