I Spy Quilt Deadline?!?

I have been running around like a crazy person these past few days.  We had a very busy weekend getting ready for and spending Mother's Day with one grandma and then the other.  This week is the last week of school and we are about to take a trip to the beach.

I have been trying to finish up a few sewing projects before we leave while managing Mother's Day, school stuff, getting the house clean, and packing up this family for a big trip.  Whew.... vacation can't come any sooner!  I really want to take the I Spy quilt with us, so I have been a busy little bee trying to get it finished along with several blocks for a virtual quilting bee I have joined.

So this baby is pinned and ready for stitching.  Now I just need to get busy!  The beach is calling my name!  The I Spy quilt ... will it make it?

  2. I really love the black chevron. Who makes it? Is your machine a quilting machine or is it an all around basic machine? I need a new sewing machine . . . badly!

    1. The fabric is Remix Zig Zags by Ann Kelle for Robert Kaufman and I got it at Fabric.com. If you type "remix" in their search bar, it will come up with all the remix fabrics (which I love) and all the zig zags will be there. Be sure and google for coupon codes, because they almost always have one floating around. A good site to check for fabric sales (and they list the coupon codes) is www.fabricdonkey.com.

    2. My machine is a Janome Horizon. It is a regular machine, but is made for machine quilting. It is set up with everything you need to do machine quilting, but you can use it just like a regular machine if you want to sew something else. It is a simple machine to use, but it is a workhorse and I love it.

  4. Beautiful quilt and hope you were able to get it done in time for your trip to the beach. A little envious of you--really wanting to get to the beach myself:) Hope you have a wonderful time!

  5. I love the triangles, all the eye-spy quilts I have seen have been squares, and whilst they are lovely, it is refreshing to see them done like this... very cute!
