Actually, I don't think she is going to see this before she receives them in the mail. She has been having issues with her wireless router and for the time being does not have internet access on her laptop. She is a very high tech lady! I think it is safe to say that it will not be fixed before this surprise reaches her door... maybe not... either way she will be surprised.

Redwork Renaissance Red Dots on White by Chloes Closet for Moda
Call me crazy, but I am really making three mug rugs for her. When I started looking through my fabric stash, I kept thinking, "Oooh she will like this, and oooh she would like that, and"... you get the idea. So I decided to make three. Why not? She can keep one at her sewing desk, her chair in the living room, her reading nook... the options are endless.

I love the colors and patterns in Millie's Closet and I thought she would really enjoy this. It is bright and colorful and the purses are too cute!
A Walk in the Woods by Aneela Hoey for Moda
This is right up her alley. The way the Little Red Riding Hood and the animals are drawn fits her style and she loves soft shades of blue. I had fun fussy cutting the fabrics to show the different characters. My favorite is the little bird on the mushroom.

I love how the stitching turned out on the back. Let me take a moment to say that I love Aneela Hoey's fabrics! She is so talented. This is such a creative, fun, and sweet collection. I cannot get enough of her fabrics!
Well, I am sure you are saying "Wait, didn't you say there were three?" I told my husband that I was making my grandmother some mug rugs and he said "I want one too!" He wants it for his desk at work. I was really surprised and flattered... so stay tuned for one more for my grandmother and one for my husband.
**Post Update - The Millie's Closet Mug Rug is now listed in my Etsy shop. You can view the listing here: Millie's Closet Mug Rug. To make your own mug rugs you can find a pattern for these designs and other variations here: Bundle of Mug Rugs.
