It is time for me to turn in my quilt bee blocks for this month. Jess at The Elven Garden chose our block for this month. She chose a woven chevron block and you can find the tutorial here.
She chose Robert Kaufman's Kona in Ash for the background and prints with similar colors as Kona Surf and Kona Orange. The blue and orange fabrics in the first block are very bright and they are more muted in the second block.
The oranges are Amy Butler's Full Moon Polka Dot in tangerine from the Lotus collection and Annette Tatum's Boho Chevron in orange from the Boho collection. The blues are unknowns.
When I started pulling fabric for these blocks, I realized that it is slim pickin's when it comes to these colors. I really do not have many options to choose from. I guess I will have to add these colors to my "need to buy" list.
While I was working I had a little (ok, big) friend come and plop down in the middle of it all. Artemis always keeps me company while I am sewing.
I am still working on my Half Moon Modern quilt. More pictures to come. I am using the lime chevron and Robert Kaufman's Kona Snow for the back. I threw the chevron in the washer just in case, before I start to assemble the back.
Stay tuned and have a great Friday!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love Kona Ash! Such a lovely color.
ReplyDeleteLove the blocks! Your desk does look tidy ... but I'd be terrified to have that cat, that drink, and that computer in such close proximity. :D
ReplyDeleteYou are right, I should have moved the drink, not a smart combination!
DeleteI love it! What great blocks! Thanks for sharing.
