Halloween Table Runner in Progress

Guising by Lizzy House for Andover Fabrics

The Halloween table runner is underway.  My goal was to make the runner with more of a modern look.  I like traditional, but the Guising collection is very modern so... modern design to match modern fabric.

I set out the squares and played with the arrangement until every piece was in the right place.  I have just never been one to go with random placement.  The thought of it freaks me out a little.  I have to have control of where every piece is, but I want it to look randomly placed.  Go figure!

I love the chevron pattern and thought it would make a fabulous table runner.  This chevron design is with the orange and browns on one row and the whites and grays on the next.  The solid fabric is Robert Kaufman's Kona Cotton in Snow, which is a very pretty soft white.  I also threw in Remix Zig Zags in black and white by Ann Kelle for Robert Kaufman, because I am obsessed with it and thought it would look great with the Halloween theme.

Here is also a glimpse of a little something else I am working on with the ever so loved, Flea Market Fancy by Denyse Schmidt.  This is the first time I am cutting into some of these fabrics from the collection.  I was a little hesitant at first, but I have had the fabric for a while and thought it was time to start using it.  No point in letting it collect dust!

These fabrics are so pretty and cheerful.  I love the gray fabric with the large yellow and white flowers.  This whole collection is stunning and Denyse is an amazing, talented designer.

Stay tuned to see what the final projects look like.  To be continued...

Have a great weekend!
Candace

so let them land where they may. Have you notice how hard it
    is to do that?

  9. Loving both of these projects and your comment about random placement makes me feel better. I actually tried to do a random placement on a recent pillow I created only to realize once it was done that there was a pattern to it after all...I guess my subconcious is even controlling!!
