Mug Rugs: First 3 of 9...

Here are the first three of the completed mug rugs.

This pink one is not my normal fabric selection.  I like pink, but usually as an accent color.  I love this pink floral (sorry, I don't know the name) so I couldn't resist using it as the main color for this mug rug.

Purses and Main in Green from the Millie's Closet collection by Bee in My Bonnet
Robert Kaufman Kona cotton in snow

I love the Millie's Closet collection and couldn't resist making a mug rug with these little purses.  They are too cute and very simple.

Sparrows in Plum and Ironwork in Lilac from the Aviary 2 collection by Joel Dewberry

I was pretty apprehensive about this one.  I rarely use dark colors and kept thinking I wasn't going to like it when it was complete.  I was really happy with the final result and it turned out to be one of my favorites.

Here is a glimpse at the back.

My poor sewing machine is feeling very neglected these days.  My sister is getting married in less than a month and my other sister and I threw the happy couple a wedding shower today.  I have spent the greater part of last week preparing and the last two days have been a whirlwind of food preparation, errand running, candy table arrangement assembly, decorations, party set up and take down, and taking care of my kiddos throughout the whole process.  This girl is beat.

Tomorrow we are getting treated to an afternoon tea at a lovely little tea house with an assortment of goodies and mimosas.  Yes, this girl is going to have tea in one hand and a mimosa in the other and enjoy a lovely afternoon of fellowship and relaxation.  After that, I am looking forward to getting back to the sewing machine.  I am responsible for making the flower girl's dress and a vest for the ring bearer (no pressure).  In the mean time I will share the next 3 of 9 mug rugs in my next post.

**New update:  To make your own mug rugs you can find a pattern for these designs and other variations listed in my shop here - Bundle of Mug Rugs.

Have a very relaxing Sunday,
Cheers!

  14. Funny thing about that pink- it is crazy old. I just cut some 10" squares of it to put in my twister to use it up. Very cut mug rugs. Thanks for sharing.
