Scrappy Happy Baby Quilt continues... (Made with Half Square Triangles)

The quilt top of my "scrappy happy baby quilt" is finished.  This quilt is a present for a sweet little baby we know.

Half Square Triangles

Lots of trimmed half square triangles.  Trimming is tedious, but it is so satisfying when they are all trimmed and neat and pretty!

I had fun working with these fabrics.  The colors of her room are yellow, turquoise, orange, and pink.  I chose lots of geometric patterns, birds, flowers, and fun little pattens such as bikes, scooters, pinwheels, etc.  I basically picked all my favorites!

I also threw in some solid colors instead of solid white.  I love how the bright solids mix in with the others.  It helps bring out the colors in the low volume fabrics and helps to balance the design.

On a separate topic...  If you regularly check your favorite blogs through Google Reader, it is going away in less than two weeks.  On July 1st, Google Reader retires.  Rest assured, there is a solution to this problem!

A great alternative is Bloglovin' and you may have already noticed the "Follow this blog with Bloglovin" button on many of your favorite sites.  It is easy to sign up and it is easy (with a click of a button) to upload all the blogs you currently follow in Google Reader.  I was very surprised at how fast and simple it was to transfer them over.  If you love your Google Reader, I highly suggest you check out Bloglovin'.

  32. I love this cheery quilt! It reminds me of another favorite quilter, Rita of Red Pepper Quits. I need to make one someday. Your fabrics are just wonderful!! I helped my grand-daughter make a quilt and we trimmed them down. The quilt came out just beautiful. I don't like trimming but it makes the quilt shine, just like yours! That Mother is going to LOVE that quilt.
