For the Birds Tumbler Quilt Top

For the Birds Quilt Top

The tumbler quilt top is complete.  Tumblers are so fun!  Especially randomly placed tumblers.

For the Birds Quilt Top

Ok, this is only partially randomly placed.  I started piecing the rows together randomly in short sections, but then I arranged and rearranged and rearranged those sections... many, many times to get it the way I wanted.

Yes, it sounds like a little much, but I wanted to make sure that certain fabrics and colors were spread out throughout the quilt.  I also did not want the same prints to be pieced directly together.

I have also prepped the backing and it is ready to go.  I love this floral and purchased it a few months ago specifically for this quilt.

Stay tuned for more...

  8. Did you use a plastic template for your tumblers? I know they are available through Missouri Star quilt co. and other places. Your quilt is just beautiful. I would like to make one using charm packs. Did you say what size yours are? It sure is a stunning quilt. Maybe you can give us some information with your next update. Thank you.
